AWAS! User Manual of Emergency
The future of architecture lies in pre-empting and responding to natural disasters and emergency scenarios. This is more so in the local perspective where we are surrounded by constantly recurring regional natural disasters. Hence the role of ‘AWAS! User manual of Emergency’ to point and educate the public using disaster and emergency scenarios as an essential learning tool.
The groundwork for AWAS is based on the following basic principles of Mitigation, Preparedness, Response and Recovery The show will exhibit tools and case-studies from three NGO’s namely The Scouts Association of Malaysia , EPIC Homes and MERCY Malaysia who are currently active in efforts to respond to emergency scenarios. Highlighting how the three NGO’s utilize the dissemination of knowledge by teaching basic survival skills through to knowledge of post disaster re-building of communities. This transmission of knowledge is made apparent through the various tools exhibited, the workshops and discussion/forum sessions that will be held during the show ’AWAS!
