AWAS! User Manual of Emergency Workshop:
Thinking Through Making: Applied skills by The Scouts Association of Malaysia The exhibition, ‘AWAS! User manual of Emergency’, highlights the ways in which we can pre-empt and respond to natural disasters and calamities based on case-studies from three NGO’s currently active in their effort to respond to the scenarios mentioned above. Through case studies from Scouts Malaysia, Epic Homes and MERCY Malaysia, this exhibition aspires to bring forth the transmission of knowledge in preparing or responding to states of emergency that the built environment may experience in the near future.
Based on the ‘Four Phases of Emergency Management’, the three NGO’s demonstrate the dissemination of knowledge through the teaching of basic survival skills through to the knowledge of re-building of a community. Along the way educating the public about encountering these scenarios as an essential educating tool done through public programs running throughout the duration of the show. A2D2
